We collect only what Room can’t work without. Lesson video and sound travel between your browsers and aren’t recorded on our servers. We don’t sell data or show ads.
1. Who we are
I SING Room is an online classroom for voice and piano lessons by I SING Academy. This policy explains what data we receive when you use the site and the lesson room. For any questions, write to voicestudio.ising@gmail.com.
2. Teacher data
- Account: name, email, subject, request comment, phone — if you provided it. We don’t store your password: only its protected hash (scrypt), from which the password can’t be recovered.
- Dashboard: files you upload (backing tracks, sheet music, recordings), playlists, student names, range check results, a list of lessons with their duration.
- Access and payments: plan, access period, history of changes and payments, which we enter manually.
- How Room is used: feature counters (how many times the backing track, sheet music, warm-ups etc. were opened), device and browser type and connection quality. Numbers only — no lesson content.
Why: so you can sign in and keep your materials, so we can open and extend access, help when something doesn’t work, and understand what’s worth improving in Room.
3. Student data
Students don’t sign up. In a lesson the student enters only a name — the teacher sees it, and it goes into the teacher’s list of lessons. We also receive technical data about the student’s connection: device type, browser, headphones or speakers, connection drops — so the teacher can see why the sound is bad and help.
Anyone who opens a playlist via the teacher’s link only listens to and views files — we collect no data in that case.
4. Video, sound, chat and lesson recording
- Video, sound, chat and photos in the chat are transmitted directly between the teacher’s and the student’s browsers, encrypted (WebRTC). When a direct connection isn’t possible, they go through a Cloudflare relay — also encrypted and not stored.
- Voice analysis runs in the browser. Only the range check results that the teacher saves for the student reach the server.
- The “Record” button saves the lesson to a video file on the teacher’s computer, not on our servers. The teacher decides whether to upload the recording to their storage and whether to share it.
- Before recording, the teacher must warn the student and get their consent — and for an underage student, the parents’ consent.
5. Where data is stored
We use trusted services that process data on our behalf:
- Railway — site server;
- Supabase — database with accounts and dashboard data;
- Cloudflare — file storage (R2) and video connection relay;
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr, cdnjs — fonts, the PDF viewer and instrument sounds are loaded from their servers;
- YouTube — only when the teacher opens a YouTube video in a lesson.
Some of these servers are located outside Ukraine and the EU. We keep account and dashboard data for as long as the account exists. After an account is deleted, we delete its data from our working systems.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use only necessary cookies: so the teacher stays signed in to the dashboard. Room settings (volume, headphones or speakers, chosen exercises) are kept in your browser’s storage. There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies. We count site visits without cookies and without storing IP addresses — only overall numbers: how many people came and from where.
7. Children
Students may include children. The teacher inviting an underage student is responsible for making sure the parents know about the online lessons and agree to them, and to lesson recording if needed. We don’t collect children’s data beyond the name entered in the lesson.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, or close your account — write to voicestudio.ising@gmail.com, and we’ll reply within 30 days. A student or their parents can contact their teacher or us directly. You also have the right to complain to the personal data protection authority in your country.
If we change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with a new date; we’ll email teachers about significant changes.
